not so much

Forget what I said yesterday.  They aren't all so dreamy.
Today is not the kind of day I want to remember.  I don't even want to remember it ten minutes from now.
I am going to put my kids in their carseats now and drive somewhere, anywhere.
That's all.

  1. wow, you took the thoughts out of my head. I'm about to load up all three boys to take a drive on this sunny day. I do hope your day takes a turn for the better :)

  4. Hugs to you! The morning and afternoon doldrums are the hardest (and longest it often seems). I wish you sleepy-headed kids on your journey in the car. Bring a book or journal...just in case you get to park under a shady tree in quiet.

  7. Sounds like my entire week.

Carseats are like little socially acceptable straight jackets.

Put on some good music, grab a yummy drink at a drive thru, and go find something beautiful to drive by (farms, rivers, bustling downtown streets) and let it all melt away. :)

  9. Yikes. It sounds like a day that transcends the word bad. There are days when coffee and chocolate won't cut it. Sounds like this may be one of those times.

I hope you punch your way through whatever is going on and tell the day where to stick itself.

  10. we are living parallel lives. Although your day sounds like my week.

I should have called you this afternoon as I was locked out of my car (with the three kids) at the College Ave. library for around 3 hours...

  11. OMG Erin I have had plenty of those "put the baby in the car seat and get out of the house and just DRIVE and hope she doesn't scream and just falls asleep days"...hope yours got better!

  12. Oh dear, I may have passed my yesterday on to you today. I am sorry. We went for a drive last night. Saw an elk and about 40 buffalo. Today was a bit better-thank you Sesame Street! I am about 31 weeks and have an almost 3yo. Hope you get to take some deep breaths on your drive.

  13. this age, right around two, it's just amazing. the coloring and inventions and how their minds start clicking things together. and how they can't say things quite right and it's so adorable. and the testing...oh yeah, the testing. it was my hardest time as a mom.
I wish I could drive my kids to wherever you ended up and drink coffee with you while we feed our kids nandy. I hope the rest of your day was better.
